Optimize Intel GMA 4500M and 4500MHD for gaming
by thund3rw0lf
Even if it says Mobile in title of this chipset, it is not mobile. Because of that all thats left is to optimize instead of upgrade.
So there are couple of options to maximize optimization: use GameBooster, edit Graphics Properties, edit configuration files in games and use modded drivers.
We are going to use Game Booster and edit Graphics Properties for now.
Install latest RoyalBNA Driver (32-bit or 64-bit)
(These drivers are made for GMA 4500M, but I use them on GMA 4500MHD and they work great for ME. If you are scared or unsure then DON'T install and just skip this step. Here is picture of my specs and proof that I use them on my laptop)
RoyalBNA drivers work only on Windows 7 and Windows Vista !!!
These are modded drivers, if you don't want to install them than just install latest official drivers.
You can find latest RoyalBNA drivers on official site here TeknoGods, registration needed to download.
Or download from these links:
Royal BNA Driver LINKS HERE !!!
Links uploaded to Rapidgator, LINKS WORKING last check 25/11/2013
To install follow next:
1. Uninstall/remove old driver
2. Disable Windows Update
3. Reboot
4. Install new driver version (RoyalBNA driver)
5. Activate Windows Update
6. Reboot
Game Booster
It can be downloaded from HERE.
Just enable it before starting game and start game with it.
It improves performance by disabling every service that is not needed while playing, it is not black magic or scam.
Graphics Properties
You can right-click on Desktop and select Graphics Properties
or
Go to Control Panel and enter Intel(R) GMA Driver for Mobile
Select 3D tab enable Custom Settings
Settings need to be set like this:
Texture Quality Balance
(I prefer Balance over Performance, Performance is faster but in some games there are texture glitches possible)
Anisotropic Filtering Application Settings
Vertex Processing Application Settings
(better performance than "Enable Software Processing" in games)
Vertical Sync Application Settings
Now go to Media tab > Image Scaling
Enable Letterbox To Widescreen Scaling
Go to Power tab > Power Plans
On Graphics Power Plan Settings select Plugged In and select Maximum Performance
Now on Graphics Power Plan Settings select On battery and select Maximum Battery Life
Enjoy!!
hi,it says in teknogod that the driver is only for 4500m and not for any other cards (4500MHD included). Did it have any issue when you installed it in your GMA 4500MHD?thanks
ReplyDeleteno, there is no issue.
ReplyDeleteIt works even better, thats why I use teknogod drivers.
You don't have to install them if you don't want to, just optimize them using this guide (before update to latest version), but some games just don't wanna work with them (Mass Effect).
I found better performance with modded drivers
can you give me the link to download the driver
ReplyDeletethe one at techno gods doesnt work also sniper bna says that its only for 4500m
Links work, here I packed all links and passwords.
ReplyDeleteRoyal BNA Driver v2.13.13.64 [64bit]
Royal BNA Driver v2.13.13.86 [32bit]
http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=HVvt6Wbs
SniperBNA optimized it for 4500M, but I use it over 1 year and it works perfectly on 4500MHD. It was the only way to play some games, and to make it more faster.
Are you sure it works on 4500MHD...? Because I'm not sure if it would be safe for my hardware :(
ReplyDeleteWhat your laptop specs anyway?
My specs:
ReplyDeleteIntel T4500 Dual Core 2.30GHz
3 GB DDR3
Mobile Intel GMA 4500MHD
Win7 x64
If you are not sure, don't install mod drivers!, just use game booster and change graphics options.
I am always ready to risk, I use modded drivers (sniperbna's for 4500M) over 1 year and they work great for me.
can you post a proof that it is working on 4500mhd i cant just trust a guy without a proof of usage of it
ReplyDeleteNo problem, here you go http://www.box.com/s/zjufh7ussird2g8biq32
ReplyDeletejust uninstall, if you can't, go to safe mode than uninstall
ReplyDeletewhat you have link download for 32 bit ??
ReplyDeletesorry bad englis :D
here,
ReplyDeleteRoyal BNA Driver v2.13.13.86 [32bit] http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=HVvt6Wbs
Latest version
thanks :D
ReplyDeleteHi - nice blog
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you are doing gaming on 3Gb RAM. You really need to put RAM 2 by 2Gb so it worked in Dual Channel Mode - that's the only way even on 32bit Windows
Best of Luck
Yes, I know. But I am doing best I can with current hardware, it won't help a lot with 2 by 2 gb.
ReplyDeleteAnd I spend money on my PC, I do this testing on laptop for fun :)), and to help other people.
Thnx for comment
In Counter Strike: Source vertex processing should be on Application Settings, it gave me 30+fps.
ReplyDeleteHow about the options on Image Enhancement? Does that improve anything?
ReplyDeleteNo, it is options for mostly video (media) playing. Doesn't help for games
ReplyDeleteyes, correct :) , I am currently testing different settings, then I am going to change this tutorial and add notes about it.
ReplyDeleteI noticed improvements in call of duty 4 too
@ oliosan
ReplyDeleteHey!
After reading your post, I have been trying to download the driver but unable to do so. I have registered myself to the Teknogods but unable to activate my account.
I need the x64 bit version link. Can you provide that?? The one you gave says "This file is private etc..".
Thanks in advance.
Here you go Royal BNA Driver v2.13.13.64 [64bit] http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=HVvt6Wbs
ReplyDelete:)
WoW! that was a quick reply.
ReplyDeleteThanx
Can you give me the latest driver for Intel GMA 4500M Win7 (32) bit
ReplyDeleteif you could please help
x86 is the same as (32) bit?
ReplyDeleteyes, x86 is 32bit
ReplyDeleteYes,
ReplyDeleteRoyal BNA Driver v3.0.0.86 [32bit] BETA http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=HVvt6Wbs
this one is latest, it is beta
Royal BNA Driver v2.13.13.86 [32bit] http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=HVvt6Wbs
this one is not latest but it is latest stable, use this one :)
Bro, really Nice Website, Very Helpful.....But are you sure the RoyalBNA drivers work for the 4500MHD...coz i installed the latest 3.0 version and i am getting error:.................Any help would be greatly appreciated
ReplyDeleteRoyalBNA drivers work but don't use 3.0 because it is still BETA !
ReplyDeleteI didn't try 3.0 64bit.
Use older version
You can download it here,
http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=HVvt6Wbs
bro, I tried that one too....still no help, is it because i have only 2GB RAM??
ReplyDeleteBro, I got the driver working.....instead of uninstalling the previous driver i just installed this. No error at all. Thanks for the help :D
ReplyDeletegreat :) , no problem
ReplyDeleteWhen I try to install it says this: http://i54.tinypic.com/jsd37r.png
ReplyDeleteDo you have a solution to this?
I had this error but with motherboard drivers, I fixed it by installing older version then update.
ReplyDeleteBut solution is always different.
I don't know which version you are trying to install, but try next:
1. try to download again (try installing both version 2 and version 3), you have links here in comments for version 2
2. make sure you uninstalled old graphics driver before installing this
3. or enter safe mode and try to install drivers
I am just guessing, these are usually solutions, but really I don't know for that error
Umm...
ReplyDeleteI tried to download the file, but none of the link you provide is working.
Can you re-upload them in different file hosting server?
It mean a lot to me
Are there any newer versions of the drivers after the one you mentioned in your post dated "15/3/12". if yes then can you please give me the link for both x86 and x64 bit.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot in advance.
No, version 3 Beta is still latest.
ReplyDeleteRoyaBNA is still working on version 3, when it comes out I will give notice here on blog :)
Now that's hell of a very fast reply...........
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot DUDE
Thanks oliosan! :D
ReplyDeleteI'll download it A.S.A.P
I am not able to install any version of the Royal BNA driver. Either on my windows 8 32 bit or xp 32 bit or 7 64 bit. It show my computer does not meet the minimum system requirements. I have intel core 2 duo P8600 2.4GHz, 4 gb ram 250 gb hdd and intel gma 4500mhd.BTW i am using pavelv15 modded drivers. i tried uninstalling it and tried to install royal bna driver but still it showed the same error. i restarted my computer again i tried to install royal bna drivers but again the same problem. what to do please help.I disabled the auto update too.
ReplyDeleteTHANKS A LOT in ADVANCE
I don't know why it doesn't want to install.
ReplyDeleteYou have more ram, better cpu, bigger HDD than me and same 4500mhd, it works for me on two laptops (Win7 x64 and x86).
It is best that you ask on official forums, http://teknogods.com .... SniperBNA can maybe help there, he created these drivers.
Sorry I couldn't help more :(
Thanks for your reply anyway. But the problem is i cannot register on teknogods.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI also getting the same problem above. I'm using Windows XP SP3 with Dual Core 2,27 GHz and 3 GB of RAM, it also displays "Computer does not meet system reqs" when I try to install them,
Maybe it because the installer detects you are not using the right card...how do you bypass the check anyway? Sniper [BNA] does not seems want to help because he don't support this 4500MHD card...
I followed this tutorial to play Portal 2. started up "The Cold Boot" and it played awesome!... at least until the room started to shake and the walls caved in, then the laptop shut off (overheat protection i assume) LOL This HP G60-447CL is going back to playing UnrealTournament 99!
ReplyDeleteDear oliosan, is there any Driver for Windows XP x84? Beacuse I think that is why I get the "does not meet the system reqs" problem. Yeah, and sorry for my bad english, I'm hungarian:D
ReplyDeleteI forgot to write that modded drivers are only for windows 7 and Vista !, sorry, no royalbna for winxp :(
ReplyDeleteThanks, but is that possible to do that?
ReplyDeleteOr do you know another way to improve my GMA 4500M's performance in XP?
ReplyDeleteno, win xp has some limitations and it cannot use modded drivers.
ReplyDeleteI installed windows 7 only because of modded drivers :(
sorry, no, RoyalBNA does most of the tweaks that can't be done in windows xp...
ReplyDeleteI see. One more queston: Do I have to install modded driver to be able to play Oblivion? Thank for all your help:)
ReplyDeleteYou don't need modded driver for Oblivion :)
ReplyDeleteThank you:D I really love the TES franchise but unfortunately i can't play Skyrim yet. And yeah, I have a problem with my driver. I just updated it because there was a newer release and i thought "hell yes", but since i updated it every game (except Minecraft) keep crashing saying that I need to update my driver. (This is the main reason why I can't play Oblivion:(:D) But this is the latest. And i tried to install the old driver but that didn't help. I hope you can help me, and sorry if I'm annoying:D
ReplyDeleteYou are not annoying, I just feel stupid because I can't help you xD
ReplyDeleteI never saw that problem so don't know answer, sry :(
Okay, does not matter. By the way it does worth installing Win7 just because of the modded drivers? Because I think that's what I will do. I really need some extra FPS's:D
ReplyDeleteYes, modded drivers give more shared RAM memory to graphics chip and boost FPS (depends on game).
ReplyDeleteI went to win7 only because drivers and gaming, and everything works great :)
Yes, more memory.
ReplyDeleteNo problem, hope you enjoy in win7 and games!
I see, so modded drivers give more memory to the video card, right? That's exactly what this card needs. Hmm, I think i need to obtain a Win7 installer:D Thanks for all your help:)
ReplyDeleteJust when I thought my laptop was doomed! There's hope! Praise the Lord for this webpage. I'm a very willing to use the modded driver. I really want my games to have 5-10 more FPS. Just one question:
ReplyDeleteWhen I go to uninstall the driver, a window pops up and it says:
"Warning: You are about to uninstall this device from your system." And under that, there's a checkbox that has text to the right of it that says: "Delete the driver software for this device."
See here: http://tinypic.com/r/2lus7bk/5
Do I checkoff the box and then click ok? I
I'm going to install the 64-bit, 2.13 driver for my 64-bit laptop.
My Specs:
HP Pavilion dv6-1230us
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit....Service Pack 1
4.00 GB RAM
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo T6500 @ 2.10GHz
Mobile Intel GMA 4500MHD :
Total Avail. Graphics Memory: 1695MB
Dedicated Video Memory: 64MB
System Video Memory: 0 MB
Shared System Memory: 1631 MB
Hope all that info helps!
Thanks!
Yes you check that box :)
ReplyDeleteAlso if I have problems with deleting drivers, I sometimes use Driver cleaner pro after deleting drivers.
Drivers should run nice on your system, don't expect to get gaming machine.... but RoyalBNa drivers help a lot, also some of games cannot be started at all without these drivers. So it helps in many ways
Enjoy!
Hmm...I uninstalled it correctly and everything, but when I began the installation of the driver I got this:
ReplyDeletehttp://tinypic.com/r/254vaxg/5
If you don't have .NET Framework 4, then install it and try again.
ReplyDeleteOr try version 2 of royalbna and version 3 beta
If that doesn't help then I don't know the fix :(
You will need to go back to official drivers.
Oh ok. I'll try out Version 3 Beta (64bit)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I have a System Restore Point to the time before I installed it. I'm back at the restore point and my old drivers are back and everything is back to normal.
I think it will be a good idea if you put into the instructions for people to create a restore point before they install. :)
Be back with the results of Version 3 :)
I don't have system restore enabled, and I never used it.
ReplyDeleteIf I uninstall something, I just install it back, I don't need restore
After re-uninstalling my normal Intel driver, this time I booted into Safe Mode with Networking. I had Windows Update disabled, and I had my Wifi card turned off as well.
ReplyDeleteI tried version 3 64 bit and the same error showed up. http://tinypic.com/r/254vaxg/5
I also tried Version 2.13 again, but got the same error as before.
I also downloaded .NET Framework 4 from Microsoft, but when I was about to install it, it only gave me the options to repair or remove it. Therefore, I already have it on my system. xD
I guess I could try to find some others modded drivers out there. I'll keep in touch for further updates.
Thanks again!
P.S. I thought it was funny that during installation, one of the .exes being installed was called: LOLOLOL.exe
:P
I hope you find something that works for you, good luck :)
ReplyDeleteMclightning I had the same error.......Bro what you need to do is, instead of uninstalling the intel driver, just install the ROYAL BNA driver, without uninstalling the previous driver......
ReplyDeleteIt will work :D
I'll give it a shot...Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteHmm...I got the same error.
ReplyDeleteI'll try two things:
1. Re-install .NET Framework 4 to a new state.
2. Uninstall COMODO Internet Security and install the driver. I wouldn't be surprised if COMODO is hindering something.
hey dude can u give me link for latest and best drivers that you use for 4500mhd....and also tell me if it is possible to play the games which freezes or dont start with official drivers...skyrim and afterfall insanity freezes in mine.....:-(
ReplyDeletehey dude can u give me link for latest and best drivers that you use for 4500mhd....and also tell me if it is possible to play the games which freezes or dont start with official drivers...skyrim and afterfall insanity freezes in mine.....
ReplyDeleteThe links are at the very top of the page.
ReplyDeleteThey work only for Vista and 7. Make sure to choose the 32 bit if you have a 32 bit system, or choose the 64-bit if you have a 64-bit system. :)
Well, I tried doing a fresh install of NET Framework 4 and disabling COMODO, but I still got the errors. If someone else found a remedy to this problem: http://tinypic.com/r/254vaxg/5
ReplyDeletethen please do share! Thanks :)
I tested them both with RoyalBNA drivers (links up) and Skyrim runs good (you can find how on this blog, use search), but afterfall runs but slow, too much lag, playable but not good
ReplyDeletecan it run the games which do not run with official drivers..????
ReplyDeleteWhich games do not run? :)
ReplyDeleteOnly games that do not run are DX11, and also DX10 games that require MSAA and big shaders, these games will never run on 4500.
But some games have problems with running, like Mass Effect (maybe skyrim), and these RoyalBNA drivers run them great.
I can speak only for games that I tested, that I wrote about in this blog, and all of them (except 1-2) work, can start or be played.
PAINKILLER REDEMPTION: cannot create 3d rendering device....how to run???? requires a dx9 card but still not running...
ReplyDeletetry pavelv5 modded drivers the work for me
ReplyDeleteI didn't have that error, but usually that error come because of bad directx files.
ReplyDeletetry to update/reinstall directx with DirectX Web Update
Just one word for u: 'expert'.... It ran in mine....the modded drivers (3.0)...are working gr8 for me...i am now able to play spiderman web of shadows....but are drivers safe???
ReplyDeleteI can't guarantee, but I am 97% sure they are safe.
ReplyDeleteI used them more than year, year and half, maybe more without problems, and also many people use them.
Hmm, the modded driver didn't help, i got the same FPS with it. I think because it's still beta. Is that possible?
ReplyDeletedepend on the games, for example, in minecraft and source games you get more fps for sure.
ReplyDeleteAnd you need to have cleaned computer, defragmented and disable all programs when playing.
In this case something's wrong, because i get the same FPS in minecraft too, and my PC is cleaner:/
ReplyDeleteHow do i remove my intel driver???
ReplyDeleteive got Intel GMA 4500MHD!
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove > find Intel driver and uninstall
ReplyDeleteor
Right-click on desktop > Properties > Advanced > Adapter > Properties > Driver > Uninstall
Hi i have a Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 do you have a programe for that im lagging in games!
ReplyDeletesorry, no :(
ReplyDeleteDid you fiddle with the group policy gpedit.msc??
ReplyDeleteYou think this will help improve Diablo 3 as well?
ReplyDeleteDon't know, I didn't try beta
ReplyDeleteBut you can try, it's not gonna explode :)
hello can u help me?
ReplyDeletewhat do you run in cod 4
please show it,i want copy your settings... please!!!!! =D

Thank you was , because of this post, I am now able to run Counter Strike GO. Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteI downloaded the beta version of the driver and i think it caused me to have the bluescreen it shuts my computer down automatically :( help please should i uninstall? where do i get the original drivers back for gma 4500mhd?
ReplyDeletedownload original here http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx?lang=eng
ReplyDeleteGraphics > Laptop Graphics Drivers > Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family
And find latest
Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Windows 7* 64, Windows Vista* 64 (exe)
or 32 bit
hi Oliosan
ReplyDeletefriend you know if you can configure the driver for my laptop hp g70-250 us-processor T4500 2.0 dual core with 3gb of ram and as with mobile intel media graphic Accelerator 4500MHD
my laptop has same parts (4500mhd, t4500 and 3gb of ram) and I use royalbna driver (links up in the post). It works great for me
ReplyDeleteNo need for configuration
hi.does this help increase minecraft fps?
ReplyDeletedon't know, because I didn't play minecraft.
ReplyDeleteSome people that did test it say that it helps, some say it doesn't
:/
thanks thought one question how can i uninstal the gma 4500m?
ReplyDeletethanks but one question how do you uninstall the driver?
ReplyDeleteGo to Control Panel > Add or Remove > find Intel driver and uninstall
ReplyDeleteor
Right-click on desktop > Properties > Advanced > Adapter > Properties > Driver > Uninstall
Then install RoyalBNA driver (to uninstall RoyalBNA, use same way)
oh damn It actually WORKS!!! i expected it to not work but it did thanks for this blog i owe you oliosan
ReplyDeleteuhm i got an error it says that "An error has occured while registering on or more components" i need help
ReplyDeletefirst time I saw this error, so don't know how to fix it
ReplyDeleteSorry :(
I did install of RoyalBNA more than 10 times on 2 different laptops and it worked great every time.
Try this:
download and install Driver Sweeper http://driver-sweeper.en.softonic.com
Start up program and select all video (intel) drivers and clean them, then try again to install RoyalBNA driver
ill give it a shot,i tried reinstalling my driver but it cant now so im left with nothing
ReplyDeleteMan i like this post you awnser every time
still nothing i still hot the error
ReplyDeleteI really have no more ideas,
ReplyDeleteMaybe try to install in safe mode ( just guessing :( )
Diablo 3 working?
ReplyDeletedon't know, didn't try
ReplyDeleteI still play Diablo 1 xD, that one is working :)
Thanks a lot for the article. The one thing that helped the most for me was changing the Vertex Processing to Application Settings. Now I can play Team Fortress 2 with about 20-40 fps on all maps (using DX8 mode and Chris' TF2 configs).
ReplyDeletehow about dead rising 2? can this driver support it?
ReplyDeletedon't know, didn't try dead rising 2
ReplyDeletethnk.. can u list up all games that supported by this modded driver..
ReplyDeletei already install this driver and my rating descrease..
my spec.
Dell inspiron 1440
Windows 7 ultimate 64-Bit….Service Pack 1
2.00 GB RAM
Intel pentium(R) dual-Core cpu T4500 @ 2.30GHz
Mobile Intel GMA 4500MHD :
Total Avail. Graphics Memory: 2010MB
There is no official list but here is my list, games that I tested and work better with this driver:
ReplyDeletehttp://augmentarium.wordpress.com/2011/09/09/list-of-games-tested-on-intel-gma-4500mhd-updating-frequently/
I don't think that rating is important, in most of the games (not all, depends on game) this driver can get couple of extra FPS, not much but 3-4, 5-6 depends.
And Mass Effect wouldn't work with normal drivers at all! With modded drivers it runs and runs great.
thnk.. between 2 vrsion which one is better? v2 or v3,,
ReplyDeleteI use v2, because v3 is still beta and it is not complete (final version will come out when royalbna removes all bugs and gives it a little boost)
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot. I've been worrying about it not working, so thanks :D
ReplyDeleteMclightning88 here again :)
ReplyDeleteWell it's been a couple months or so since I came back here to visit for any new updates. I see V3 has been released. I attempted to download it and got the SAME error as before. http://tinypic.com/r/254vaxg/5
I saw that someone in the teckno forums recently.....
(recent as in July 2012; that post is here: http://teknogods.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=8332 [it's the second post])
.....had the same problem to and was also unable to fix it. I'll keep in touch if there's any way to fix this. Thanks :)
Hey, guys please HELP!!
ReplyDeleteIs it worth it if i upgrade my ram to 4gb from 2gb, I have a 4500mhd card, will there be a big increase in game performance?? HELP guys!!!
no, 5-20 fps depends on game but it will still need low resolution and low settings... not really worth the money
ReplyDeleteso umm , will this driver increase my dedicated memory or what?
ReplyDeleteintel gl40
gma 4500m
yes it will increase memory :)
ReplyDeleteHave tried countless times to get this working on Win 8 64-Bit, have uninstalled old drivers, cleared registry, disable integrity checks and turned of driver signing checks. The driver appears to install, yet I don't see any sign of it, no control panel can be found or performance increase noticed. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI don't use Win8. So I don't know how drivers works on it :( sorry
ReplyDeletehello. I installed the drivers but it doesn't show up anywhere. when I go to driver properties etc. I don't see the name of royal bna or anything like it. does that mean it's not installed?
Deletethanks
yair
it should show up, try again. When in driver properties click uninstall. Then install again, and see. I installed it atleast 30 times, and everytime it would show up under driver properties as royalbna. If reinstalling doesn't help, then I don't know what it problem :(
ReplyDeletedo they have RoyalBNA drivers for windows xp? or any other type of performance driver for that OS?
ReplyDeleteNo :(, older graphics like x3100 had XP drivers, but they weren't possible for gma 4500. They say only W7, vista and W8 works for modded drivers. Sry
ReplyDeleteHo un HP 630 con CPU 2.0 Ghz dual core e scheda vide Intel GMA4500MHD, spero che non succeda niente di male installando questo driver..
ReplyDeletePerfetto, aggiornato col driver Royal v3
ReplyDeleteScheda video prestazioni Aero: 4.1 a 3.4
Grafica dei giochi 3D: 3.4 a 4.6
I giochi sembra che vadano meglio, testato NFS Most Wanted a 1366x768 giocabile :D
if i'm installed this driver, can i change driver to normal intel driver again?
ReplyDeleteyes, just uninstall and install normal driver again
ReplyDeleteplease does it work with gma 4000
ReplyDeleteno you have Intel HD Graphics 4000, gma 4500 is older. This only works with 4500 and 4500mhd
ReplyDelete
