Augmentarium

Dead Island is working on 4500MHD.

With default settings it is very slow but with couple of tweaks it can be very playable and faster.

Follow next instructions to get it running


Game can run without tweaks but it goes in 3-6 FPS and lowest resolution is 1024x768.

With next tweaks it can run 10-25 FPS and can get 640x480 resolution, and it is totally playable.

Don't try to make FOV (field of view) larger because game won't run smooth.

IMPORTANT
Main folder we will use is in
My Documents\DeadIsland\Out\
or in
Program Files\Dead Island\DI\Out\
It depends on version of game!
My is in Program Files so I will use that path in next tutorial!

1.Edit Config file

Goto Program Files\Dead Island\DI\Out\Settings
(My Documents\Dead Island\Out\Settings)

Edit Video.scr file in notepad, paste next settings instead original:

Save & Exit

Right-click the Video.scr file
Select Properties
On the General tab you'll see Attributes near the bottom
Check Read-only box and click Apply then Ok

2. Optimization pack v2

Disable Motion Blur, Bloom, Dust, Desaturate, Fog, Weapon Blur and SSAO.

Without sun gives more fps but game looks a little different.

Extract to
C:\Program Files\Dead Island\DI\Out
after extraction it should look like this
C:\Program Files\Dead Island\DI\Out\Data

3. Disable intro movies

Right-click game shortcut, under Shortcut tab add -nologos on the end of path.
It should look like this
"C:\Program Files\Dead Island\DeadIslandGame.exe" -nologos
Select OK
